A pre-bid Conference for the 55 MW Masrik-1 solar photovoltaic project in Armenia organized by the R2E2 Fund was held in Yerevan on 31 January, 2018.
Welcoming speeches at the opening ceremony of the Conference were made by the RA Vice Prime Minister, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Mr. Vache Gabrielyan, World Bank Country Manager for Armenia Ms. Sylvie Bossoutrot, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Mr. Hayk Harutyunyan, Director of Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund Mr. Armen Melkikyan.
The representatives of pre-qualified companies, transaction advisory organizations, Public Services Regulatory Commission, Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, Electric Networks of Armenia, other companies representing energy sector of Armenia, international financial organizations, Armenian banks were invited to the Conference.
At the conference, the speakers presented project preparation works, main procedures and schedule of the tender, key provisions of the agreements to be signed between the parties, mechanisms for mitigating possible social impacts of the project. Representatives of the pre-qualified organizations were given the opportunity to ask the participants of the conference questions and get clarifications.
Let’s remind, that “Masrik-1” project envisages construction of 46-55 MW installed capacity solar PV plant in Mets Masrik community of Gegharkunik province of the Republic of Armenia. The tender has been announced for the design, financing, construction, ownership and operation of the station, the results of which will be summarized in spring, 2018. The winner will be a company or consortium that will offer the lowest price.
WB Director of Strategy and Operations Mrs Mariam Sherman and WB Regional Director of South Caucuses Mrs Mercy M. Tembon visited National Archive of Armenia accompanied by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund Director Mr Armen Melkikyan and the Head of technical group Hrant Ter-Gabrielyan. Director of NAA Mr A. Virabyan presented project deliverables, confirmed considerable level of implemented energy efficiency activities, increased level of comfort and significant improvement of maintenance conditions of archival documents. more

A workshop on “Ensuring Energy Efficiency in Building Inspection” will be initiated by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the Black Sea Basin BuildingsEnergy Efficiency Plan – BSBEEP Projectimplementing by ten project partners located in Black Sea Basin within the framework ofENPI-Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme 2007-2013.
The workshop will be held by cooperation of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and The Union of Municipalities of Samsun on 3rd of November, 2015in Samsun.
Participation to the workshop is expected from all authorized managers and technical staff from Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and other district municipalities located in Samsun regarding with energy efficiency in buildings, the relevant departments of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, provincial directorates of the Ministry, governmental institutions, building inspection firms, engineering and consultancy firms, project developers, and NGOs taking part in building inspections.
The participants are expected to have certain technical information and knowledge on building inspection and to have taken part in ensuring energy efficiency during the building inspection processes. Press Release
On Wednesday, July 29 the Municipality of Kavala, with the support of its regional BSBEEP Partner, the Democritus University of Thrace, held a training event targeting Municipal employees involved in issues related to energy efficiency. Over 50 participants from all over the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace defied the summer heat to hear about actions, tools and solutions that can help them raise their capacity to deal with energy management issues.
